Stolen From Moms Blog

Today is my son's 40th birthday! For the life of me, I don't know how this happened! Why, just yesterday, he was one year old and had the curliest, thick head of hair, sweet smile, tiniest feet and hands............I mean, I just fed him his cereal, and dressed him for the day, and Oh My! Somebody, help! My little sweet boy is missing and replaced by this tall, dark, and handsome man person!!
Where did those years go? I cannot possibly be THAT old as to have a child who is now 40, can I? Naw....It is just a dream, right? Pretty soon I will wake up and have to go into his bedroom and pick him up from his crib.....No, I don't think so. It is real, very real.
Matthew, you grew up right before our eyes. Our hearts are filled with all those memories of your childhood and young adult years. Sometimes, we were filled with joy, other times, well, let's just say, you gave us a run for our money! All things considered, we are proud that you are our son.
People, let me tell you a bit about him. He is hard working, quiet, and humble. He goes to church, loves family and tradition and is a real sensitive guy. His heart breaks easily, but his heart is always open to children, family, and those in need. He never asks for anything of anyone, but is willing to help when he is needed. He has never been married, but believes that God has someone waiting to find him one day, if that is to be. He is content with what he has, and has never thought that the grass is greener somewhere else. He is a loving uncle, a caring cousin, and devoted son.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATT!
May God bless you abundantly, and may you receive your heart's desire today and always.
Celebrate! Sto Lat!!

Nine more to go
So a few months ago I was looking through my DVD collection and Put all my Godzilla movies together. I had about 10 . Did a little research and discovered that the TOHO movie company made 29 Godzilla films since 1954. So now I've been collecting Godzilla films and now have 20 to reach the 29 film goal , including the Tristar American version because I already had it .9 more to go

Star Trekkin
I just got back home from seeing the new Star Trek movie. I fully expected to and wanted to HATE the new movie. Why? Because of the revamping and re imagining of the classic TV series. The Romulan Bad guy goes back in time some 120 years and totally chops up the star trek timeline. Killing James Kirks father , Blowing up Vulcan thus killing Mr. Spock's mother , so Mr.Spock could feel the same pain the Villain Nero felt when His Home planet was destroyed.
I liked the movie Spock's and Kirks origins were interesting . The Villain Nero was likable as villains go. Spock was pretty much like that guy you meet at work, a real jerk when you first meet him but as time goes by he's your best friend . The movie was action packed and enjoyable.
Now here's where I nit pick some Small things that bothered me. First off did the Gillette company go bankrupt in the 24Th century. Nero had this Miami Vice stubble beard going . The Vulcan's including Spock had Five-O-Clock shadow. And Kirk and McCoy looked like they need a shave. Also. The star fleet uniforms reminded me of Hockey Jerseys. I fully expected Chekhov to walk by with a hockey stick in his hand.
Casting for the movie was great in my opinion. Eric Bana as Nero the Villan ,I liked. Zachary Quinto as Spock and the rest of the cast was selected well. JJ Abrams Did a fine job and gave the film the right attitude ****

Matt Had A Flat
you know how it is after you punch out and leave you Job, Tired a little Hungry and you want to get home. That is how it was today but I ran into a slight problem. A Flat Tire. I didn't notice the tire until this A-Hole who was parked next to me snickered about my flat . I called my Dad after that and told him what was going on then I called a Tow Truck to fix the flat. It was a warm evening and I waited about 40 minutes in front of the store until the tow truck arrived . The tow truck driver was pretty good , He parked the truck. loosened the nuts on the flat and replaced it with my spare . I ran over a screw. The tire can be plugged.

Folsom Prison & Comics
Last night I went to something that was pretty neat. Back To The Past Comics in Livonia. Where I get my comic Books. Had a get together for their friends and customers . This was a listening party where they played Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Album and while it was playing . You walked around mingled and talked with who was there .
They bought a lot of soda pop and pizza's for us to eat which was pretty damn nice. Everyone relaxed laughed and had a great time Scott and Pete who ran the event did a super job. Since this was a comic shop the main topic was comic books and discussiona about movies. Pete mentioned an old B-movie he hadn't seen "Psychomania. I told him what I thought of the movie since I've seen the film recently on Nightmare Sinema.
I even entered a few contests, One was to have my picture taken, but, as a reaction shot upon reading the end of the comic final Crisis.BatMan died at the end or something. Everyone talking pretty much drowned out Folsom Prison But I didn't mind....

Never Seen Star Wars
"My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.
I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration."
Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn't seen it) from Joe Nicolosi on Vimeo.

Woodpecker Wisdom
Two Trees and a Woodpecker
It is hard to find a joke today without a dirty word or two in it, but here is one:
Two tall trees, a birch and a beech, are growing in the woods. A small tree begins to grow between them, and the beech says to the birch, 'Is that a son of a beech or a son of a birch?'
The birch says he cannot tell, but just then a woodpecker lands on the sapling.
The birch says, 'Woodpecker, you are a tree expert. Can you tell if that is a son of a beech or a son of a birch?'
The woodpecker takes a taste of the small tree, & replies, 'It is
neither a son of a beech nor a son of a birch.
It is, however, the best piece of ash I have ever poked my pecker into.'
Now wipe that smile off your face.
