2008 is at it's end so I thought I would pick who I believe to be the Pop culture person of the year,Someone who people everywhere were talking about. Someone who came out of nowhere and caught a lot of peoples attention. I thought about picking someone like "Joe The Plumber" who did catch our attention due to his association with Barack Obama but he ,In my opinion abused his celebrity , He wrote a book voicing his opinions pretty much after the media dug around about his personal life,But I really didn't like the guy.
The person I did pick was mentioned everywhere, I even saw a BBC news story from London about her. A person like Joe the plumber who was caught in the spotlight of Barack Obama who in May was taking a tour of a Detroit auto manufacturing plant , all she did was her job asking Barack what he would do for the American auto worker, he answered her with the words "Hold on a second Sweetie "
Who is the Pop Culture Person of the Year , I picked Peggy Agar , Chanel 7 action news reporter and I believe very nice person. I like her and look forward to her reports on the news
Peggy didn't abuse her "celebrity" and continues to work very hard at her job reporting the news. You're likely to see her on the 5am news here in Michigan usually outside dressed very warm in frigid temperatures , then again at noon. At 5 and 6pm somewhere like Lansing then at 11pm maybe somewhere like downtown Detroit .
Peggy Agar does her job very well like we all should...

It's strange. As you kind of pointed out, with Pop Culture Person of the Year, it could either be the person who was so over-exposed that you don't EVER want to hear about them EVER again, or it could be someone who was Pop, but in a more positive and worthy light. On the positive side of things, for me, I'd have to pick Tim Russert, who passed away this year. To me, he represented an almost extinct species - a solid, likable guy who was an even handed journalist. Contrast him with the happy talkers who unashamedly root for either one side or the other, and you'll understand what I mean.
Ahhh, I think you have it bad for Peggy! My vote.....Sarah Palin's daughter....what's her name?
I kind of seen Peggy once. I was running some errands at lunch time when I seen a channel 7 news van, with a blonde in the front seat. Watched later that evening and she was doing a segment on a puppy that was stolen from pet store near my work place.
